INSTRUCTIONS

TASK 3

I decide to start with making a character sheet. As they will be the faces we see throughout the whole story. I went for a black and coloured solid shapes, makes the characters more minimalistic. I centered the story around a witch and a plague doctor because I am going for a supernatural vibe. 

I written a script for the plot. I wanted them to fight over a thing, and a third party intervening. It is essentially a mad lib comic. To fit in the theme, they fought over a pumpkin pie, and a certain green creature intervened them.

I made an official character sheet. With all characters, angles, effects and colour scheme. The art style of flat shade and thick outline is inspired by the old school animation style. Then I started combining the characters, background and dialogue to produce the 60 panels of the comic.

REFLECTION

Experience: 

Since this is a large project, our classes are self directed to give us more time to work on the project. I did it straight on with the experience of Adobe Illustrator we gained. Pathfinder, shape builder, gradient. It allowed me to make more complex shapes to resemble those of objects. I am really satisfied with the end product.

Observations: 

I had a lot of fun creating the character and story. I always wanted to make a comic but I stopped half way because I set the bar too high. This assignment made me think of the practicality to produce a finish product. 

Findings: 

I learned that being realistic and practical about your abilities helps to make a final product. Ambitious is great and we are all still learning and improving, so taking into account the skill level allows for projects that are achievable.
