INSTRUCTIONS

From the project 3 prototype, I have completed the main 2 features which is planet info and orbit reveal position of planet.

OrbitAR: Planet Feature

OrbitAR: Orbit Feature

For the quiz section, I want to minimize the amount of screen changes. I decided to use the model switcher for the 3 planets each. I also added a check and reset buttons.

Lastly, the final feature of my AR app is the achievements. I decided to create a V gallery through following the lecturer's tutorial. The achievements includes planets that the player unlocked upon discovery.

I played around with the lighting in the home screen. I tried to emulate the sun being the only light source by using the light type point. This achieves the results but an issue I found is due to the camera's positioning, the earth and moon appears dark when rotating in the middle of the screen.

I made sure the image target for the orbit is the sun, because the sun is the center of the orbit. The moon and earth rotates around the center sun. I did this for the features orbit and quiz.

After consulting with the lecturer, I improved the UI to be more futuristic using an asset package that is available in the Unity Asset Store.

I also received feedback on adding audio to the AR app. I decided to add a main theme for the menu and a sub theme for the individual buttons.

REFLECTION

I learned about creating an immersive experience through AR and Unity's Vuforia package. I learned a lot about the various ways to implement AR through the exercises the lecturer given us. I have use some elements that are taught in class like scene manager, game object set active, model cycle and v gallery. There were a lot of following tutorials online and fixing bugs. That is the whole process of creating the app. A lot of patience is needed to check everything is working.
